Assistant/Associate Professor - Elementary Education

The Department of Undergraduate Teacher Education in the School of Education at St. Bonaventure University announces a tenure track position for an Elementary Education Generalist at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank. Appointment will begin in the fall of 2013, subject to budget approval.

Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses in elementary education in a Professional Development School setting, teaching undergraduate (and possibly graduate) courses in traditional on-campus settings, academic advisement of students, research and service, including serving on school and university committees. K-12 teaching experience and extensive experience with instructional technologies are required. Candidates should possess an earned doctorate in Elementary Education, Reading, Curriculum and Instruction, or other appropriate area. Candidates with ABD status will be considered with the understanding that degree requirements will be completed within the two years of appointment. Desired characteristics include ability to teach courses in ESL; an emphasis in math/science or reading/ELA; experience with field-based programs; online teaching experience; and previous higher education experience. Appreciation of and respect for the University's Catholic, Franciscan mission is expected.
